Escape for a full day Barcelona city Break. Take a relaxing 2 hour train ride South along the coast, arrive at a beautiful and unspoilt countryside just two hours from the city: El Priorat, Catalonia's “Tuscany”.....
The exceptional and world class wines of this area are yours to discover, as we take you to the Clos de l'Obac winery in Gratallops. The visit consists of a private guided tour of the facilities, conducted by a family member, during which they will explain the history of their winery, the Priorat wine attributes and the unique vinification process they use at Clos de l'Obac. When the tour ends, you will enjoy a tasting of the winery’s top four labels. In an effort to provide their visitors with wines that will correctly portray the outstanding quality and aging capabilities of what they produce, they do not serve the latest vintages during the tasting, but instead offer you the one's that they consider at their earliest age for being fully appreciated. This is truly a unique opportunity to taste some world class wines in a spectacular surrounding at one of Priorat's best wineries. The vintages of each of the wines you will taste is the following:

After the wine tour, we take you upstairs to the wineries professionally equipped teaching kitchen that specializes in teaching Catalan/Spanish cooking, where your host and chef Alicia Juanpere will guide you through a wonderful hands-on cooking class. Once completed you will sit down to an elegant and delicious three course meal of the dishes you just prepared, accompanied by wonderful Priorat/Montsant wines.

PROGRAM INFO AND PRICING
PROGRAM DETAILS- 9AM
- Take train in Barcelona, destination Marça/Falset station. The same train departs from either of three stations in Barcelona. First from the Barcelona Estació de França station at 8h47AM, then Barcelona Passeig de Gracia station (very central) at 8h56AM, finally the Barcelona Sants station at 9h03AM. You must take the train whose final destination is either Mora la Nova, Ascó or Zaragoza, and your destination is the Marça-Falset station. Price return trip is approximately 22€.

Arrival at Marça-Falset station where we pick you up (it is a very small rural station....hard to get lost!)
- 11AM - 1h30PM
We will drive in the Catacurian minibus to the picturesque hilltop town of Gratallops, a lovely 20 minute drive.
Visit of the Costers del Siurana winery, followed by a tasting of four of their world class wines.
Thereafter, it's up to the professional teaching kitchen with adjoining dining room which is surrounded by a magnificent landscape.
- 1h30PM to 6PM
2 to 3 hour hands-on cooking class followed by late lunch of the dishes you have prepared, and accompanied by Priorat/Montsant wines.
Return to train station at 6PM, where train departs at 6h16PM for an arrival in Barcelona at 8h15PM.
Included in this program are pick-up and drop-off at Marça-Falset train station, transport to all included activities, winery visit and tasting, all necessary materials for cooking class, all food and wine served during apéritif and lunch, and recipes of dishes you prepared.

For reservations requested in advance, a 50€/pers. non-refundable deposit is required to assure a place. The balance is due 15 days prior to the reservation date.If you are within the 15 day time period prior to the class date, full payment is due at time of reservation.
